The Birth of Memorise

A Story of Shared Adventures begins (in the wildest wildnes of Sweden)

The inspiration for Memorise struck during an unforgettable backpacking trip through Sweden's Kungsleden trail. This wasn't just any vacation - it was a journey amongst friends, a chance to forge memories that would last a lifetime. Cameras clicked constantly, capturing breathtaking landscapes, hilarious mishaps, and moments of pure camaraderie.

But as the excitement of the trip faded, a familiar challenge emerged: sharing the captured memories. Emails flooded inboxes, overflowing with photos and snippets of the adventure. The sheer volume made it impossible to compile a cohesive narrative, and precious moments risked being lost in the digital clutter.

A group of four young men—Florian, Maxi, Niki, and Jonas—in full hiking gear, standing in front of the gate for the Kungsleden trail in Sweden. They appear ready to begin their week-long trek.

This struggle wasn't new. Every group trip, every milestone event, seemed to follow the same pattern. Photos scattered across devices, stories half-told, the magic of shared experiences slowly fading. There had to be a better way.

That's when the idea for Memorise blossomed. We envisioned a platform that could centralize everything related to a specific memory - a digital campfire for friends to gather around and relive their experiences. No more lost photos, no more fragmented stories. Just a shared space to collaboratively build a rich tapestry of memories.

Memorise was born from a desire to bridge the gap between captured moments and lasting memories. With the app, you can easily create shared "memory capsules" for any event - a trip with the guys, a birthday celebration, a family reunion. Invite your friends, add photos, stories, even locations, and together, co-curate a digital record of your shared adventure.

The story of Memorise isn't just about technology - it's about the power of shared experiences and the enduring bonds forged through them. We hope that Memorise becomes your go-to tool for preserving those precious moments, ensuring that the stories you create together live on, just as vibrant as the day they were made.

The Kungsleden (King's Trail)

The Kungsleden, translating to "King's Trail" in English, is a renowned 440-kilometer (273-mile) hiking route located in Swedish Lapland. It traverses some of the country's most remote and scenic landscapes, passing through vast wilderness areas and skirting the highest mountains in Sweden. The trail is known for its breathtaking arctic vistas, including glaciers, alpine valleys, and pristine lakes.

While considered a moderate hike in terms of technical difficulty, the Kungsleden presents several challenges for hikers. Here's a breakdown of some key factors:
  • Remoteness: The trail traverses sparsely populated regions, with limited access to amenities and support services. Hikers need to be self-sufficient, carrying essential supplies and equipment for the duration of their trek.
  • Distance: Completing the entire Kungsleden is a significant undertaking, requiring a well-conditioned physique and the ability to cover long distances on foot. Hikers often choose to section-hike the trail over several trips.
  • Weather: The climate in Swedish Lapland can be harsh, with unpredictable weather conditions. Hikers need to be prepared for a range of possibilities, including rain, wind, snow, and cold temperatures, even during the summer months.

Despite the challenges, the Kungsleden offers a unique and rewarding experience for hikers seeking an adventure in a breathtaking natural setting.

My life in a nutshell

Student by day, organizer by surprise! Balancing studies in economics at UNI Wien with the thrill of sports keeps me on my toes. You might even find me orchestrating a tennis tournament despite never having played professionally. Being Florian's sibling brings both perks and pressure, but hey, that's life!

The story behind the marketing manager:

Economics + creativity = dream job! My eye for detail fuels my marketing passion, and now I get to tell stories (believe it or not, I wasn't talking (sense) until school!).

What makes me tick:

Sports, books, and challenges! I crave the competition on the field and the escape of a good story. Every challenge, physical or intellectual, keeps me energized and growing.

Why Memorise matters to me:

It is a project that truly matters to me. I realy think the app can help users to keep memories for ever, relife them whenever the feel like it or build new ones.

Beyond the workday:

Most of my freetime i spend with friends either by playing tennis or going out with them, I enjoy getting challenged by different things and love to compete, which makes sport quite addicting on the one hand but character breaking on the other sometimes. But the best thing is to enjoy some klesch cold beers together with my friends and see what the evening gives.

Why every group would benefit from me:
